A Pillar of Knowledge and Hospitality

As one of India’s most prestigious centers of learning, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) serves as a Nodal Institution and key implementing agency for the Kashi Tamil Sangamam. The university plays a vital role in organizing, facilitating, and enriching the Sangamam, serving as the academic and cultural heart of the event in Kashi.

BHU, along with IIT Madras, spearheads this Ministry of Education initiative. The university's sprawling campus, historic commitment to national integration, and deep academic roots make it the perfect host for welcoming delegates from Tamil Nadu, coordinating academic seminars, and showcasing the shared heritage of India.

Key Contributions

Academic Coordination

Organizing seminars, workshops, and lectures for visiting delegates, connecting them with BHU's faculty and students.

Cultural Exhibitions

Hosting special exhibitions at venues like Namo Ghat, showcasing BHU's research, innovation, and artistic heritage.

Hosting & Logistics

Providing logistical support and warm hospitality to thousands of delegates, ensuring a memorable and immersive experience.

Study Tour Program

Selection of 300 college / University students for study tour from Kashi to Tamil Nadu. Train tickets will be booked by BHU

BHU's Role in KTS 4.0

For Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0, BHU is undertaking several key responsibilities to ensure the success of the new initiatives:

Academic Program Host: Hosting the academic programmes and literary interactions for visiting delegates on Day 2 of their tour.
"तमिऴ् करकलम" Coordination: The Tamil Department of BHU will coordinate with the visiting Tamil teachers and the Varanasi Administration to facilitate the "Let us Learn Tamil" program in local schools.
Student Travel Logistics: BHU, in coordination with IRCTC, is responsible for booking the train tickets for the 300 college students from Varanasi participating in the study tour to Tamil Nadu.
